Balance Technique. Practicing Applied Meditation.

Instruction for practicing balance to help people become more conscious of their desires and intentions.

The main rule is to set aside all expectations when using the practice and treat it like a game. The less expectations you have, the better the results will be.


✏Exercise. Balance Technique.

1. Imagine a scale that has 2 bowls, the Intention bowl and the Acceptance bowl.

Your job is to balance those scales. To do this, place these 2 weights on the Intention bowl:

  • What do I want? (Write your request in detail)
  • Why is this important to me? (Write in detail how what you get will affect your life)

2. On the Acceptance bowl, place these 2 weights:

  • What related to what I want am I grateful for right now? (For example, you want to make more money, then you can write that you are already grateful to have money for basic needs and more.)
  • Do I accept that this is not going to happen in my life? (In this point, it’s important to internally accept that you’re not going to get what you want. It will probably be difficult at first, but that’s the point of this practice – to learn to accept and balance your intention).

The technique is maximized when we combine written and mental execution.


How do you do practice writing?

  • In a notebook or notebook (at the very least on your smartphone or computer), spell out all 4 points, directing your attention to the process as much as possible.
  • The stronger you want to get the effect of the practice, the more you spell out each point, adding something extra each time, focusing on deeper meaningfulness.

Example:

  • I want to find a new interesting job with good pay
  • I want to find a new interesting job with good pay, working online
  • I want to find a new interesting job with good pay, working online and realizing my strengths

And so on.

Piecemeal practice will increase your awareness and mindfulness.

How do you do the practice mentally?

  • Better yet, sitting (but you can do it standing), close your eyes and focus on your breathing.
  • Go through all 4 points of the balance technique, on each inhale and exhale mentally saying each point.
  • Take at least 3 breaths in and out for each item. The stronger you want to get the effect of the practice, the more breaths and exhalations you take on each point, focusing more deeply on your inner state.

Example:

Inhale – I want to find a new interesting job with good pay – Exhale


Inhale – I want to find a new interesting job with good pay – Exhale


Inhale – I want to find a new interesting job with good pay – Exhale


Mentally doing the practice will allow you to balance your inner state.

Assignment:

Pick 3 objects for the balance technique:

  • Cash amount (up to 10,000 rubles)
  • A problem or stressful situation in your life
  • One of your life goals

Do balance practice in writing and mentally for each selected object.
