What is the Moon sign and what is it responsible for?

The Moon sign describes your emotions, inner world, and what you need to feel secure; calculating it requires your time of birth.

✔ Avatarium breakdown
The Moon sign is one of the most important points in the natal chart, though it is rarely discussed in popular horoscopes. If the Sun sign represents your essence and the direction of your growth, the Moon sign is about your inner, emotional world: how you feel, what you need for peace and security, your habits, reactions, your "inner child" part, and your subconscious. This is why people often resemble their Moon sign more than their Sun sign at home or in close relationships. For example, with a Sun in businesslike Capricorn and a Moon in sensitive Pisces, a person is much softer on the inside than they appear. To calculate the Moon sign, you need the date and, ideally, the time of birth (the Moon changes sign roughly every 2–2.5 days). Honest framing: this is a symbolic element of astrology, not a science. If you don't have the time of birth, the Destiny Matrix is more convenient to use with just the date.
