FAQ

How do I find my Chinese zodiac animal?

From your birth year with a start-of-year correction. Enter the full date — we resolve animal, element and Yin-Yang polarity automatically.

Why does the exact date matter, not just the year?

The Chinese year starts in late January–early February, not on Jan 1. People born then often belong to the previous year's animal — most sites miss this.

How do you set the year boundary?

We use the start of spring (Li Chun, ~Feb 4), like the BaZi system. If you were born in late Jan or early Feb, double-check — both are possible and we say so honestly.

What are the element and Yin-Yang?

Besides the 12 animals there is a five-element cycle (Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water) and Yin/Yang polarity — so a Wood Dragon differs from a Fire Dragon.

Is it science?

No. It is traditional culture and entertainment, not a scientific method or a prediction of fate.
