What is Mercury retrograde and what should you watch out for?

This is a period when Mercury appears to move backward; in astrology it is linked to disruptions in communication, technology, and contracts — but this is a tradition, not science.

✔ Avatarium breakdown
Mercury retrograde is a period (occurring several times a year for about three weeks) when Mercury seems to move "backward" across the sky from Earth's perspective. This is an optical illusion caused by the differing speeds of the planets, not actual reverse motion.

In astrology, Mercury governs communication, information, technology, travel, and agreements, so its retrograde is traditionally associated with disruptions in these areas: misunderstandings, delays, gadget breakdowns, and confusion in paperwork. The usual advice is to double-check important matters, avoid signing major contracts in haste, make backups, and clarify details.

Honest framing: there is no scientific evidence that Mercury retrograde affects technology or communication — much of it can be explained by self-suggestion (we expect disruptions, so we notice them). As a reminder to be more attentive, it is harmless. You can check your daily horoscope in the horoscope section.
