What do reversed Tarot cards mean?

A reversed card usually weakens, blocks, or turns the upright meaning inward—but it is not a “bad” card.

✔ Avatarium breakdown
A reversed (upside-down) Tarot card is the same card, but its energy manifests differently. Most often it means one of the following: the meaning is weakened or blocked, it shows up in its “shadow” aspect, it is directed inward (not outward, but into inner experiences), or it is only just emerging and has not yet unfolded.

Important: a reversed card is not “bad” and is not automatically the opposite of the upright card. For example, a reversed Tower may not speak of a smaller catastrophe, but rather that upheaval is brewing inside while the person is holding it back.

Beginners can absolutely start without reversed meanings—read all cards in the upright position until you gain experience, then add reversed interpretations later. This is a normal practice. Tarot is a tool for reflection, and the interpretation always depends on the question and context. You can try a spread in the Tarot section.
