is it weird to read tarot for yourself or should someone else always do it

i mostly pull cards for my own questions since i don't really know anyone else into this stuff. sometimes i wonder if i'm just going to interpret whatever i already want to hear though. do people who read professionally still do self readings or is that considered bad practice?

there's definitely a risk of just projecting onto the cards when it's your own question, that's just how it is with any self reflection tool honestly

do you use a different spread for yourself vs when you'd read for someone else or is it the same approach either way?

i read for myself all the time, i just try to sit with the card a bit before jumping to the interpretation i want, helps cut down on the bias a little
