best way to actually learn tarot without just memorizing a cheat sheet

i've got the little keyword booklet that came with my deck but honestly it feels like i'm just reciting definitions instead of understanding anything. i want to get to the point where i can look at a card and read it intuitively. how did you all move past the memorization stage?

honestly some people never fully leave the keyword stage and that's fine too, plenty of good readers still reference notes, don't feel like you're doing it wrong

which deck are you using? some decks have way more scene detail to work with than others which makes the intuitive part easier or harder

for me it was journaling one card a day and writing down what i noticed in the image before even looking up the meaning, took a couple months but it clicked eventually
