Does anyone else feel energy in old trees?

I sat under a massive oak yesterday and felt this strange, quiet hum from it. Do you think certain plants hold more presence than others, or am I just projecting?

Yeah, I think old trees hold a kind of slow, grounded presence that you can almost feel in your chest if you stand near them long enough. Have you ever noticed it more with certain species, or just the really ancient ones?

For me it’s less about exact species and more about age plus a kind of “settledness” — oaks and cedars especially, but I’ve felt it with old fruit trees too, like they’ve seen enough seasons to just hum quietly.

Totally — there’s an old oak near my place that feels less like a plant and more like a very patient, slow-breathing presence. I swear the air gets heavier around it, in a good way.

Yeah, old trees feel like they’re holding whole lifetimes of quiet witness — I always press a palm to the trunk like I’m saying hello.
