Is it common for IEIs to struggle with initiating even casual conversations?

I always overthink whether reaching out will be seen as intrusive, even with close friends. Does anyone else get stuck in that loop of wanting contact but waiting to be invited?

Yeah, for IEIs it’s often less about shyness and more about needing a sense of emotional “permission” or flow before speaking up—casual still has to feel meaningful somehow. Do you find it’s easier when the other person opens with a vibe check first?

Yes—if someone opens with a small vibe check, even just warm tone or a playful aside, it gives me a felt sense of the room and I stop rehearsing and just respond.
