Do you think your sociotype ever feels like a cage rather than a map?

Lately I keep noticing times where I act against what my type description says I should prefer, and it makes me wonder if the model is just describing habits rather than limits. Has anyone else felt like they outgrow their type when life pushes them into new roles?
