Does the non-dominant hand actually show potential?

I keep reading that your left hand shows what you're born with and the right shows what you do with it, but my lines look totally different between hands. Anyone else notice that, or am I just overthinking a palm reading?

I’ve always read it as potential *plus* inherited tendencies, but the dominant hand shows what you’re actually doing with it — so a big gap between the two can be pretty telling.
