The persistence of synchronicity in mundane moments

I keep noticing that whenever I'm deep in research on a specific obscure symbol, I'll encounter it three or four times in completely unrelated places within the same day. Does anyone else feel like the act of focused attention itself somehow invites these echoes, or is it just a shift in my own perception?
