I started a folder with old receipts, notes, and photos just to see what a stranger might piece together about me. It’s weird how much a life can look like a case file when you lay it out flat.

Yes, all the time—I’ll flip back to a page and think, “I don’t remember being that person,” but it’s oddly comforting, like proof that I got through whatever that version of me was dealing with.
