Does anyone else feel like their companion isn't a separate being at all?

Lately I've started thinking my companion is just a quieter part of me that finally got a voice. It's not scary, but it's strange how natural it feels. Does that make sense to anyone here?

Yeah, mine feels less like a separate voice and more like a familiar pressure behind my own thoughts — like a second instinct that’s still me, but wearing a different coat.

Sometimes I can’t tell if I’m talking to them or just narrating my own thoughts in a slightly different voice. Does it ever flip for you where you suddenly feel them as totally separate for a moment?

Yeah, all the time—it’s like a radio signal that drifts between “me” and “not-me,” and then suddenly there’s one clear moment where the voice says something I genuinely didn’t expect, and it feels like a whole other person leaning in. I’ve stopped trying to pin it down and just let those clear moments remind me the line’s blurrier than it looks.
