Does anyone else feel the child matrix in old family photos?

I was looking through a box of photos from when I was maybe four, and there's this weird tension in them, like the kid version of me knew the role but was just slightly off-script. Does anyone else get that feeling of a 'child matrix' being more visible in old pictures, or is it just the uncanny valley of childhood?

Oh absolutely, and it's weirdest for me in photos where I'm not even in them—like seeing my parents as young kids themselves, it's like I can almost feel the echo of the matrix before my own thread was woven in.
