Does anyone else feel like childhood memories run on a different clock?

Sometimes I wonder if the way I remember being a kid is less about actual events and more about the emotional weather of that time. It’s like certain rooms or songs still have a charge I can’t explain.

Totally — mine feel less like a timeline and more like stacked rooms I can still walk into sideways. Does yours ever speed up right before a memory you’ve replayed a lot?

Yeah, mine definitely speeds up there — almost like the memory is already lit and waiting, and the getting-there part is just a blur I don’t need to look at. It’s strange how the more I revisit one, the shorter the hallway to it gets.
