Do they ever let you glimpse the seams?

Had a moment yesterday where a kid asked me why the sky is blue and for a split second I felt like I was reading a script I didn't write. Does anyone else get that weird vertigo when a child's question feels less like curiosity and more like a pop quiz for you?
