Day Master strength vs. favorable elements confusion

I've been reading about weak Day Masters and how they're supposed to favor their resource element, but what happens when that resource is also your unfavorable god? Like if you're a weak Geng Metal and Earth appears, does the support outweigh the clash, or is it still considered inauspicious?

I always thought a weak Day Master just automatically loved resources, but then I saw a chart that was drowning in Water and still needed Fire—it really flipped a switch for me.

It’s easy to mix those up—sometimes a Day Master is technically strong but still benefits from the same element for a different reason, like balancing the chart’s temperature or unblocking a stuck flow.

Honestly, I think the confusion comes from treating the Day Master like a standalone stat rather than seeing it as part of a whole team dynamic—sometimes a "weak" Day Master is exactly what the chart needs if the surrounding branches are cooperating.
