Recurring elevator dream that never reaches the floor

I keep dreaming I'm in an old elevator that moves sideways and diagonally instead of just up and down, and I always wake up right before the doors open. It doesn't feel scary, just really frustrating, like I'm missing something obvious. Anyone else had something similar?

Oh, I totally know what you mean—for me, it's always that the panel suddenly has way more buttons than it should, like my floor just vanished and I'm pressing random numbers hoping one will stick.
